JON C. LAKEY / SALISBURY POST Don Vick shows off a new item that was delivered to The Candy Shoppe on Main on Tuesday. Son Tyler and wife Nancy enjoy watching Don start the blade on a toy helicopter that also dispenses candy. A wide assortment of familiar brands of candy and several not so familiar will be offered at The Candy Shoppe on Main. The store will hold its grand opening at the Friday Night Out in a couple of days. Don Vick and his son Tyler have always dreamed of opening a candy store and have decided to make a go of it. Don's wife, Nancy Vick will work in the shoppe with Cady Driggers.

LAKEY / SALISBURY POST Salisbury Officer Shanita Millsaps keeps a watchful eye on the Knox Middle School campus as she serves as the only School Resource Officer in the county at the middle school level. The open design at Knox Middle School has been seen as problematic for maintaing security. Millsaps spends time during school hours and after school functions adding a level of comfort for the safety of the students and staff.
