Bring Wendy Home project

  • JON C. LAKEY / SALISBURY POST Richard Menius uses a nail gun to attach the new hallway door facings which have been widened. Volunteers have been working on making the home of Kelly and Wendy Hunsucker wheelchair accessible. Wendy Hunsucker, who suffers from Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome, has been confined to a wheelchair for the last six weeks. The wheelchair would not fit through most of the doorways in their 1940's era home that they have lived in since 2008. Several Sunday School classes from First United Methodist Church in China Grove have been working getting Wendy and her family home. Thursday, August 28, 2014, in Salisbury, N.C.

The granite school house, which was built after the depression era has been a furniture store and home to four different taverns over the last many decades. Wyatt hopes that it will become a popular spot for anyone needing to space to hold activities such as weddings, concerts and church bazaars.
