Livingstone Headstart musical interlude

  • The Livingstone Headstart program was treated to a musical interlude during their school day on Wednesday morning. The students spent their morning building their on instruments out of craft supplies then they moved outside to listen to young instrumentalist demonstrate the sound that they could produce. Fifty-seven 3 and 4-year-olds were treated to demostrations on violins, violas, cello and a flute. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in Salisbury, N.C.

Special Olympics spring games

  • The Rowan County Special Olympics Spring Games was held at West Rowan High School on Thursday. Athletes competed in running, walking, throwing, jumping and other games and then awarded ribbons. The athletes started off their day with a parade around the track followed by the ceremonial lighting of the Olympic Torch by athlete David Orbinson.
